Treatments

Three stages, and you can stop after any of them

The centre offers one treatment, delivered in three defined stages. You are not asked to commit to anything before you know whether you are a candidate and what it costs.

Non-surgical hair regeneration consultation

A physician assessment of your hair loss and a straight answer on whether this treatment is a reasonable option for you.

The consultation is where the decision is actually made, and it is deliberately unhurried. Dr. Prasad examines the scalp directly, looks at the pattern and the calibre of the hair rather than only the hairline, and asks about when the thinning started, how quickly it has moved, what runs in your family and what you have already tried. You will be asked about medications and general health, because both affect what is realistic. From there you get a plain explanation of what the TrichoStem protocol is designed to do, what it is not designed to do, and whether you are the kind of patient it tends to help. If the honest answer is that a different approach would serve you better, or that monitoring for now is more sensible than treating, that is what you will be told.

Assessment and treatment plan

Baseline documentation and a written plan covering what would be treated, in how many sessions, and what to watch for.

If you decide to go ahead, the next stage turns the consultation into something concrete. Standardised photographs are taken so there is an objective baseline to measure against, because gradual change is almost impossible to judge from memory or from a bathroom mirror. The areas to be treated are mapped, and you are told how many sessions are anticipated for your particular pattern, most often one or two. The plan also sets out the sequence of the appointment itself, what numbing is used, how long you should allow, and what the follow-up interval will be. Costs are confirmed in writing at this stage so there is nothing left to discover later.

Follow-up, maintenance and support

Scheduled review against your baseline photographs, with further treatment only if the assessment supports it.

Because results develop over months rather than weeks, follow-up is part of the treatment rather than an optional extra. You are reviewed against your baseline photographs at set intervals so that change is judged objectively. Pattern hair loss is a progressive condition, so the review also looks at areas that were not treated and at whether the pattern is continuing to move. Some patients are treated once and reviewed periodically thereafter. Others benefit from a second session, and where that is the case you will be told why, what it is expected to add, and what it costs before anything is booked. If the assessment does not support further treatment, that is also said.

The treatment itself

What actually happens on the day you are treated

If you go ahead after the assessment, this is the appointment. It happens in one sitting and there is no recovery period to plan around.

  1. Your own blood is drawn

The visit starts the way a routine blood test would. A small sample is taken from your arm and spun in a centrifuge to separate out the platelet-rich plasma, the fraction of blood that carries the growth factors your body already uses to repair tissue.

  2. Plasma is combined with extracellular matrix

That plasma is combined with extracellular matrix, a wound-healing material made by ACell. On its own, plasma is absorbed quickly. The matrix is what gives the growth factors a scaffold to sit in, and working out that formulation is the part Dr. Prasad developed.

  3. The scalp is treated in one sitting

The combined material is injected into the thinning areas of the scalp after the area has been numbed. The treatment itself takes place in a single appointment, and most people return to normal activity the same day without bandaging or a recovery period.

  4. Change happens gradually, over months

Nothing visible happens on the day. The intent is to support follicles that have thinned so that they produce thicker hair again, and that plays out over months rather than weeks. Most patients are treated once or twice rather than on an ongoing schedule.

Individual results vary and no result is guaranteed. Nothing on this website is a promise of a particular outcome, and nothing here is medical advice. Whether this treatment is appropriate for you can only be determined in a consultation with a physician.
